This two week-long forum has been a rich and rewarding experience; we have exchanged ideas as well as personal and programmatic experiences. One of the purposes of this forum was to facilitate ongoing networking and dialogue among program managers, researchers, and others interested in improving CPI as it relates to clients’ FP needs within HIV/AIDS service settings. We hope that this forum has provided you with up-to-date and state-of-the-art information on what is happening in the field and an opportunity for synergy between sharing both global and domestic-based experiences.

We have had an impressive number of participants from different countries and cultures. 394 participants from 61 different countries around the world took part in this discussion. Our largest group of participants were from the USA (154 people), but we also had substantial participation from the following countries:

South Africa - 19
Nigeria - 17
Kenya - 16
India and Uganda - 15
Ethiopia - 14

We had a total of 22 postings throughout the forum with 19 participants contributing to this dialogue.

We would like to express our gratitude to all those who signed up for the forum, contributed to the discussion, and forwarded forum information to their friends and colleagues. Your questions and comments made the forum interesting and informative and allowed participants to discuss across cultures.

We would also like to thank Dr. Arzum Ciloglu and Marian Amoa of the Health Communication Partnership and Peggy D’Adamo and Megan O’Brien of the INFO Project who coordinated this online forum.

This community of practice on integration of family planning and HIV/AIDS services will remain active. If you are receiving this message, you are already a registered member of this community. Please use this community to continue the discussion of client-provider interaction or to discuss other issues pertaining to FP/HIV integration.

To continue these discussions, simply send an e-mail at any time to fphivintegration@ibp.wa-research.ch. Please note that these postings will not be organized into daily digests. Depending on resources and ongoing interest expressed in the discussions by participants, future organized forum discussions will be considered.

We hope this forum has provided useful resources, ideas and experiences that will help meet future challenges in our work in integration of FP and HIV/AIDS services.

Best regards,
HCP and INFO Teams
