Larry R. Miller, Ph.D., Director, Global and Project Communications, FHI 360FHI 360's K4Health Coordinator

Larry Miller directs global and project communications for the newly-formed FHI 360, a non-profit, global development organization operating from 60 offices with 4,400 staff in the U.S. and around the world. Before joining FHI 360, he served as Director of Communications for the International Partnership for Microbicides (IPM), a non-profit organization developing innovative HIV-prevention products.

Larry spent over 18 years in roles of increasing responsibility in the pharmaceutical industry, including his last position directing operations and communications functions for the 3,000-person global Drug Discovery Division at GlaxoSmithKline. Previously, he directed communications and operations for HIV/metabolic diseases research and led drug discovery efforts in the areas of osteoporosis and women’s health/aging.  

Larry excels at conveying complex scientific and health concepts in ways that can engage and educate all audiences. He has worked extensively with U.S. and state senators and congress members, foreign dignitaries, investors, development partners, patient groups and medical opinion leaders.  Before moving to GlaxoSmithKline, Larry spent over four years conducting allergy and immunology research at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD. He received his B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in biochemistry from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA).
